From its humble beginnings as a manufacturer of low voltage (“LV”) switchgear and sheet metal fabrication, SMB Electric Pte Ltd (“SMB Electric” or “the Company”) has grown over the years to be the market leader in the manufacture and assembly of electrical switchgear in Singapore.
The story began more than 30 years ago when the founders of the Company, who were driven by a spirit of entrepreneurship, set out to take SMB Electric to where it is today as the leader and specialist in electrical power distribution systems.
Over the years, SMB Electric has grown from strength to strength in both size and revenue. The Company now has 4 fully-equipped plants in Singapore, as well several offices and manufacturing facilities in overseas markets in Malaysia, Vietnam and Australia. These overseas subsidiaries manufacture and assemble switchgear to service the demands of their respective local markets.
SMB Electric has gained invaluable experience in supplying switchgear solutions across a wide spectrum of market segments such as commercial and residential buildings, industrial process plants, infrastructural developments, food processing and pharmaceutical industries, offshore & marine and oil & gas industries. The Company has also forged a niche reputation in mission critical operations such as data centres.
Today, SMB Electric is one of the four core business divisions under SMB United Limited, a group holding company which oversees other businesses such as Power & Technology, Trading & Distribution and Building Services.
The Company continues to be committed to introducing new and innovative technologies in the manufacture and assembly of electrical switchgear by continuously investing in R&D and investing in the use of state-of- the-art manufacturing tools.
